In Pursuit of Global Literacy - Project Underway
There is an estimated “100-year gap” in education levels between developed and developing countries (Brookings Institute, Millions Learning). According to UNESCO, 263 million children, adolescents, and youth around the world are currently not in school. Many others attend school for several years and leave without ever having learned to read.
What if children can learn to read on their own and with each other using only technology?
In partnership with the Wolf Charitable Fund, we're exploring support for open source learning solutions that can help children in developing countries— without schools and teachers— to teach themselves to read.
The impact could be unprecedented.
